LUCKNOW: Two persons were nabbed with foreign currencies of Brazil and Venezuela near City Station in Wazirganj on Monday.
An informer had tipped off the police about two persons coming to exchange foreign currency near City Station. A police team in civvies was deployed.
Around 4 pm, the police rounded up two persons who came with a bag.
They identified were identified as Vinay Gautam of Hardoi and Zeeshan of Saadatganj.

Wazirganj Station Officer Pankaj Singh said that when frisked Brazilian Real worth Rs 12 lakh in Indian currency and Venezuelan Bolivar worth Rs 1.38 lakh in Indian rupee were recovered from them.
“They said one Akhilesh had given them the bag and told them that one Munna would collect it from them near Akbari Gate,“ said Singh. Gautam was preparing for competitive exams while Zeeshan was a handicraft worker.
They also had a property business, he said.
ASP (west) Vikas Chander Tripathi said that preli minary probe revealed that the duo were paid Rs 60,000 in advance for delivering the bag and were to be paid Rs 50,000 later.
Teams of Enforcement Directorate (ED) were informed to enquire into the matter, said the police.
