Morgan Gibbs-White’s late call-up for England took the total number of Nottingham Forest first-team players linking up with their countries this fortnight to 14.
The Reds ace had originally been left out of Thomas Tuchel’s first Three Lions squad - much to the surprise of many. However, an injury to Chelsea’s Cole Palmer saw him added to the group on Sunday evening.
Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has spoken of his pride at having so many players recognised by their national teams. The Portuguese will, though, be keeping his fingers crossed that all return fit and healthy.
“We are delighted that they travel and then we are anxious when they play. And then we are looking forward to them coming back and being available for us,” Nuno said last week.
“But now we are very proud. It's going to be almost 14 players (called up), that's a lot. Shows quality and shows talent. It is a sign of the progress (of the club), it is a sign of the evolution and also a sign of our globalisation.”
Some players do face a race against time to link back up with the Reds for their return to action on Saturday, March 29, when they take on Brighton and Hove Albion in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. Below, NottinghamshireLive takes a look at Forest’s full list of first-team internationals and when they might feature for their countries.
