Iberdrola's global renewables output drops slightly in Q1 2024
Apr 15, 2024 17:56 CESTFrench independent renewable energy producer Albioma SA (EPA:ABIO) said last week it is looking for new acquisitions to expand its Brazilian distributed generation (DG) solar portfolio.
The company is targeting both operational and under-development projects classified as GD I, meaning they have the right to full compensation of all the components of the electricity tariff until 2045.
In order to achieve its goal, Albioma hired Watt Capital, a financial advisory firm specialising in Brazilian renewable energy investments and financing.
Albioma entered the Brazilian solar market in August 2022 with the acquisition of a 31.6-MWp portfolio of photovoltaic (PV) parks in Sao Paulo, Goias, Piaui and Pernambuco states.
Albioma's Brazilian unit CEO Christiano Formam said the company will focus on purchasing greenfield projects located in the states of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goias, Distrito Federal, Ceara, Piaui, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo. Regarding operational plants, Albioma will evaluate any DG solar power system of over 1 MW.
