Shipyards Live announced today that it will bring eight weeks of music, culture, food, and family activities to North Vancouver's iconic waterfront this summer.

Every Friday and Saturday, from July 30 to September 18, the daylong events will feature a splash park, artisan vendors, food trucks, a giant licensed patio, and live music--including R&B, soul, funk, country, pop, jazz, and Brazilian samba.

“It is more important than ever before to find new ways to connect with the community,” says North Van mayor Linda Buchanan in a press release. “I think at some point over the past year and a half we’ve all longed for the large social gatherings we couldn’t hold safely during the pandemic.

"That is why I am so pleased that Shipyards Live is able to launch safely," she adds. "The City has long been committed to making our waterfront a vibrant and fun space for all people.”

The location of Shipyards Live will include the Lonsdale Quay Market, Shipyard Commons, and Shipbuilders Square, with opening-weekend celebrations to include a Pride Variety Show presented by the North Shore Pride Alliance, and performances by the Shenanigans and Sambacouver.
