2017: Suburban restaurants that do the Thanksgiving cooking for you

Don't feel like cooking this year for Thanksgiving? Suburban restaurants serving turkey dinners offer a respite from the shopping, the prep, the cooking, the guests and the dreaded clean up after the big meal. Here's a sample of Thanksgiving feasts in the suburbs.

<b>Avante Banquets:</b> 1050 Northwest Hwy., Fox River Grove, (847) 287-1006 or avantebanquets.com/. Avante's Thanksgiving brunch buffet, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, features a prime rib carving station, an omelet station and breakfast bar, pasta and seafood stations, a salad bar and a sweet bar. Chandler's will be serving an a la carte Thanksgiving menu from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Chandler's traditional turkey dinner (hand-carved roasted turkey, cornbread stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, candied yams and cranberry sauce) is $22.99 for adults and $11.99 for kids. Other chef's specialties include fire-grilled lollipop lamb chops, prime rib, lobster mac and cheese, barbecue baby back ribs, pumpkin pie, chocolate fudge cheesecake and more. Francesca's:</b> Many of the suburban Francesca's restaurants will be serving classic Thanksgiving Day specials with an Italian twist. Specials include roasted butternut squash and mascarpone cream soup, pumpkin-filled pasta with fresh tomatoes, brown butter, sage and parmigiano, hand-carved turkey breast with sage stuffing, mashed potatoes, string beans and cranberries, porcini-rubbed rib-eye with broccoli and Calabrian-style potatoes and pumpkin pie. The specials will be available from noon to 7 p.m. at La Sorella di Francesca, 18 W. Jefferson Ave., Naperville; Francesca's North, 1145 Church St., Northbrook; Francesca's Amici, 174 N. York St., Elmhurst; Francesca's Tavola, 208 S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights; Francesca's Intimo, 293 E. Arts and crafts will be available for kids. Dinner at B. includes a more intimate setting and a prix fixe menu.
